Rest, Holiday, New Club (In That Order) . . . Gareth Bale Rules Out One Move But Leaves The Door Open To Others

Gareth Bale has two more games to go – Belgium on Saturday night and the Netherlands on Tuesday – before he puts his feet up and takes what he believes is a well-earned rest on a family holiday. He may not have had the most demanding of final seasons at Real Madrid – seven appearances and only 290 minutes – but the now 32-year-old fears for the future of some of his contemporaries as the demands on the world’s best players continues to grow. Bale’s time in La Liga appears to be over after a trophy laden nine-year period in the Spanish capital and he laughed as he unequivocally quashed rumours of a possible return at Getafe – “I definitely won’t be playing there.”

Gareth Bale Bored By Football v Rugby Debate in Wales . . . He Wants Every Single Welsh Sport To Be Up With The Best

Gareth Bale believes Welsh football’s success can act as a catalyst for youngsters in any sport. Welsh football has been on quite the journey – from languishing in 127th in the world, to reaching three out of four major finals, including the semi-final of the 2016 European Championships, and now their first World Cup in 64 years. It is the longest period away from one World Cup finals to the next of any nation that has ever appeared.

Meanwhile, Ukraine will also be vying for a place in their second finals – their first was in 2006 – after three months of war with Russia, so it will be an inspirational occasion for the country should they qualify.

Newport County Raid JD Cymru Premier For Third Time As Bala’s Will Evans Moves Up

Newport County have launched a third raid into the JD Cymru Premier League by signing Will Evans from Bala Town. Now, the 24-year-old former Cardiff Met star Evans is hoping he can make the breakthrough into the Football League after putting pen to paper on a deal that will be completed when the transfer window officially opens on 10 June.

Wales Boss Offers To Build A Statue Of Gareth Bale . . . As Madrid Chapter Finally Comes To A Close

Wales manager Rob Page has offered to personally build Gareth Bale his own statue – even if the World Cup qualifier turns out to be his final game for his country. Bale has not played much football at Madrid this season, but his big game ability and undoubted quality mean that he is an outsider to potentially be the man to break Liverpool hearts once more, in what would be a fitting end to a trophy laden time in the Spanish capital when the Champins League final takes place on Saturday. Despite his success, the Madrid media, fans and those at the top have often used the Welsh legend as a scapegoat for financial and scouting mishaps made by those in charge.
