Alex Cuthbert Set To Leave Cardiff Blues For England Return

Wales wing Alex Cuthbert is set to quit Cardiff Blues at the end of the season. Cuthbert – who will follow head coach Danny Wilson and assistant Matt Sherratt through the Arms Park exit door – is expected to join his home town club Gloucester. The 27-year-old joined the Blues in 2011 and his impressive form quickly earned him a place in the Wales squad that won the Grand Slam the following year.

Swansea City U21 manager Cameron Toshack believes his youngsters must learn to be more ruthless after they were knocked out of the Checkatrade Trophy by Charlton Athletic. England Pour Cold Water On Heated Wales Claims Over Warren Gatland Successor

England rugby chief Steve Brown has appeared to doubt Wales’ plans to replace Warren Gatland as coach. The RFU chief executive has also claimed he believes England are not far behind in their own preparations to replace Eddie Jones after the 2019 World Cup. The Welsh Rugby Union announced in October they had already drawn up a three-man shortlist to succeed Gatland and aimed to make an announcement in the summer of 2018 – over a year before the New Zealander is due to return home.

Glamorgan batsman Will Bragg has announced his retirement from cricket with immediate effect at the age of 31. Bragg was only able to play a handful of County Championship matches in 2017 due to illness, but did enjoy a successful Royal London One-Day Cup campaign when he registered a career-best 94 against the Kent Spitfires at Swansea. “It’s been a great experience to come through the age groups of Welsh Cricket and represent Glamorgan for over a decade,” said Bragg.

Wales scrum-half Aled Davies is to become the second current international to leave the Scarlets for the Ospreys.
