Sport Wales’ ‘Vision For Sport’ Gets £5m Launch Boost

Sport Wales’ new ‘Vision for Sport in Wales’ is launched today alongside a very welcome boost of £5m of new funding from the Welsh Government. A new ‘Health and Active Fund’, a partnership between Sport Wales, Welsh Government and Public Health Wales, has been set-up to support schemes over the next three years to get more people involved in physical activity.

Two former South Wales rugby league stars met as head coaches in the opening day of the Student Home Nations tournament in Pontypridd, with Paul Emanuelli’s Wales overcoming Carl de Chenu’s Irelan,. Glamorgan Bring In Joe Burns To Fill Shaun Marsh Gap

Glamorgan have confirmed the signing of Australian batsman Joe Burns for the rest of their Vitality T20 Blast campaign as a replacement for the injured Shaun Marsh. Burns will join his new teammates this week and subject to ECB registration will be available for Glamorgan’s remaining 11 T20 fixtures, starting with their contest against Somerset on Friday night at Sophia Gardens. The 28-year-old has played 14 Test matches for Australia, the last of which was in March during Australia’s tour of South Africa, where he top scored in the second innings with 42. Overall, he has hit three Test centuries with a best of 170 against New Zealand.

Pryce Heads To Epynt In Flying Tarmac Spec Escort

Osian Pryce will contest his first ever asphalt rally in a rear-wheel drive car when he contests the SGC Printing Harry Flatters Rally on Epynt on Sunday 29 July in an Escort Mk2. The 25-year old Machynlleth-born driver has recently contested two gravel rallies in an Escort Mk2 – leading the 2WD Rally North Wales before a puncture dropped him to fourth, and setting fastest time on all five stages to win the Red Kite Stages. Co-driven by Dale Furniss, Pryce will once again drive a car supplied by Suffolk-based specialists RallyXtreme, but this time it will be a much lighter, built for asphalt, Escort Mk2 powered by a John Wilcox BDG engine, with a Kugelfischer fuel injection system. The car’s livery is similar to that used by Björn Waldegård and Ari Vatanen.
