Wales Should Carry No Burden in Baku And Rome, Insists Neil Taylor

Neil Taylor believes Wales can galvanise the nation at Euro 2020 just like the team he played in five years ago – but insists there should be few expectations. Taylor was part of the Wales side which reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and returned from France as heroes with thousands of fans lining the streets of Cardiff to greet them. It was the first time Wales had qualified for a major tournament since the 1958 World Cup, but five years one – including a 12-month delay – Robert Page’s team are back at the European Championship finals again next month and line up in a group also featuring Italy, Switzerland and Turkey.

Aaron Ramsey Fitness Worries For Wales As Euros Training Camp Begins

Aaron Ramsey will be assessed by Wales medical staff in Portugal as fears grow over his fitness for Euro 2020. The Juventus midfielder did not play for the Italian club in their final match of the season against Bologna on Sunday because of an ongoing thigh muscle injury. Ramsey was included in a 28-man training group announced on Monday by caretaker manager Robert Page that was notable for the absence of Hal Robson-Kanu.

Liverpool And Wales Star Neco Williams’ Little Bro Wants A Go . . . Keelan Keen For Call Up

Neco Williams’ little brother wants to follow the Liverpool star into the Wales team. Keelan Williams, a 17-year-old who left Anfield to join Burnley, reckons he has already surpassed his older sibling on one front by beating him at the crossbar challenge in a park during lockdown. Now, he wants to get another one over on Neco by being quicker to a full Wales cap after the young defender captained Wales U18s against England last month.

Quadruple Hunter Sophie Ingle Now Part Of “Best Team In The World” At Chelsea

Wales captain Sophie Ingle is playing for the “best team in the world” according to former England striker Eni Aluko. Ingle is preparing for Chelsea’s Women’s Champions League final against Barcelona this weekend having already pocketed a second successive Women’s Super League title medal. The Wales skipper – now playing regularly in midfield rather than defence for both her country and her club – was part of the Blues’ line-up that lifted the domestic league trophy last weekend with a thumping 5-0 win over Reading.

Fans Are Back In Wales As Swansea City, Newport County, Wales And Glamorgan Get Green Light

Swansea City and Newport County will be playing their home play-off matches in front of fans for the first time this season. The move has been confirmed by the Welsh Government who have given the green light for both clubs’ ties to be played in front of supporters as pilot events as part of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions. The go-ahead means both Welsh clubs will not be disadvantaged as they might have been after English clubs were given the okay to allow a limited number of fans back for their home ties.

Rob Page Will Seek Tips From The Wales Boss Who Went Before . . . Chris Coleman

Rob Page plans to pick the brains of Chris Coleman before Wales begin another Euro finals adventure. Caretaker manager Page intends to sound out Coleman for advice, having already drafted in one of the former manager’s assistants, Kit Symons to the cause. Gareth Bale And Harry Wilson Goal Spree Promises So Much For Wales This Summer

Wales supporters watched on in excitement over the weekend as Harry Wilson and Gareth Bale both registered hat-tricks for their respective clubs at a crucial time, with EURO 2020 set to commence next month. The two players are integral for Robert Page’s side and both look certain to be central to Wales’ ambitions this summer – possibly paired up front together – so, to see them in such devastating goalscoring form must have been heartening for the stand-in manager. Bale dons the armband and offers a unique, world-class x-factor in the final third, whereas Wilson’s invention and craft is also hugely important.

Cardiff City’s Kieffer Moore: I Want To Score Goals On The Big Stage

Kieffer Moore intends to carry the inspiration of two Cardiff City legends with him when he plays for Wales at the Euros this summer. The Wales striker moved to 20 goals for the season with a brace against all-but-relegated Wycombe at the weekend, but his duties for club and country this season are far from over. Moore wants to keep his scoring form going in Cardiff’s two remaining Championship fixtures – away to Birmingham City and at home to Rotherham – to ensure a top 10 finish before heading off to try and plunder more goals for Wales at the delayed European Championship finals.

Kieffer Moore Could Leave This Summer, Admits Cardiff City Boss Mick McCarthy

Kieffer Moore could leave Cardiff City if he makes an impact with Wales at the Euros this summer, manager Mick McCarthy has admitted. The Bluebirds striker made it 20 goals for the season with a strike in either half in the 2-1 win at home to Wycombe before Will Vaulks was dismissed late on. That tally made Moore the first Cardiff player to reach the 20-goal figure since the late Peter Whittingham managed it from midfield in the 2009-10 season.

Gareth Edwards Leads Tributes To Lions Legend John Dawes

Sir Gareth Edwards has led the tributes to his former captain and coach, John Dawes, who has died at the age of 80. Having served under him when Wales won the Grand Slam in 1971, and on the victorious British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand later in the same year, Edwards then saw the other side of his former captain as the Wales coach. Dawes coached Wales between 1974-79 when they won four Triple Crowns and two Grand Slams. He won 18 of his 24 games in charge.

The Gemma Grainger Era Is Up And Scoring . . . Thanks To Wales’ Jess Fishlock

Jess Fishlock fired a second-half equaliser as Wales claimed an encouraging 1-1 draw against Denmark in a friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium. Fishlock volleyed home from Natasha Harding’s cross on the hour mark to cancel out Pernille Harder’s 24th-minute opener which saw her match Denmark’s scoring record. It was a performance that will give some encouragement to Wales boss Gemma Grainger in only her second game in charge.
