Marcelo Bielsa’s Bucket List Must Not Include Winning At Swansea, Says Graham Potter

Graham Potter is hoping Marcelo Bielsa’s unbeaten Championship record kicks the bucket at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night. Bielsa may be one of the most revered coaches in the world and he may have got Leeds United away to a flying start to the season, but nothing seems to have attracted more attention than his preference to sit on a large blue upturned bucket rather than in the dug-out. The Argentinian has even added to the mystery by refusing to detail why he likes to park himself on the plastic, rather than the comfier seats on the bench.

Graham Potter Says Swans Need A Centre-Back As Cameron Carter-Vickers Waits In The Wings

Graham Potter insists Swansea City are close to bringing in new recruits on loan – but has refused to confirm they are poised to take centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham. The Swans manager – whose unbeaten Championship team host Leeds United on Tuesday night – talked of using the loan market after four players left the club on transfer deadline day. As yet, no-one has arrived, but Potter says the club are in discussions over a number of potential players and that the club’s American owners are aware of the need to improve the squad.

Unbeaten But It’s Still A Steep Learning Curve For Potter’s Swans

He may not have matched Billy McCandless’ 1948 record of winning his first three games in charge as manager of Swansea City, but Graham Potter is still working his magic on his return to British football. How else can you account for Birmingham City not winning Friday night’s game. They battered the Swans into virtual submission, yet failed to convert any of their 17 shots, 14 of which came in a first-half in which they peppered the visiting goal.

Garry Monk Reveals Strain Of Swans Job As He Faces Them Again

Garry Monk has admitted he felt “drained” by his time as Swansea City manager as he prepares to face his old club. The former Swans boss – now in charge of Birmingham City – was sacked less than three years ago, when the club were still a mid-table Premier League outfit. Since then, a torrent of turbulent water has passed under the bridge for both Monk and the club where he spent a decade as both player and then manager in succession to Michael Laudrup.

Former Swan Angel Rangel Joins QPR

Former Swansea City stalwart Angel Rangel has joined Queens Park Rangers after being let go from the Liberty Stadium at the end of last season. The Spanish defender, who spent 11 years with the Swans, has signed for their Championship rivals on a short five-month contract. Angel, 35, made 374 appearances for Swansea before he was released just before the arrival of manager Graham Potter earlier in the summer.

Erwin The Unready Believes His Time At Swansea City Has Finally Arrived

Erwin Mulder has told Swansea City manager Graham Potter the goalkeeping gloves are off in his fight for a starting place with Kristoffer Nordfeldt. Dutchman Mulder finally made his Swans debut in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat of Preston, 408 days after he joined the club from Heerenveen. If patience is a virtue then Mulder must be approaching sainthood status. Not only was he in the shadow cast by Lukasz Fabianski, before the keeper was sold to West Ham earlier this summer, but he was also eclipsed by Swedish World Cup squad member Nordfeldt in the battle to be No.2.

Graham Potter Insists Unhappy Swans Had To Be Got Rid Of

Graham Potter has defended Swansea City’s deadline day exodus as resolutely as his players defended in their 1-0 victory over Preston. The Swans are in fourth spot in the early Championship table after a hard-fought victory decided by Jay Fulton’s only goal of the game. It was not always convincing in their first game of the campaign at the Liberty Stadium, but the result soothed what could have become a more fractious atmosphere following the selling spree on Thursday. Four players left the club, making it 12 in total during a downsizing summer which has improved the bank balance by £48m. Only four players have arrived for a quarter of that figure.

Swansea City Owners Braced For More Match Day Fury After Deadline Day Fire Sale

Swansea City’s owners are set to feel another blast of anger and disapproval heading their way across the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday afternoon. It may be the club’s first home match of their Championship season and Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan may have issued a statement attempting to explain their deadline day fire sale, but the heat has not been taken out of the supporters’ fury. On social media, Swansea fans have reacted angrily to the Americans’ outlining of their “strategy” and there have been calls for more of the venomous protests at the match against Preston that marked their final few matches in the Premier League last season.

Swansea City’s Deadline Day Discount – Ayew, Fernandez And Clucas Sold But Only Declan John Comes In

Swansea City’s deadline day dealings left them with cash in the bank, an old boy from Cardiff City – but desperately short of central defenders. The Swans made just one signing, taking Wales international full-back Declan John from Rangers for an undisclosed fee. But four players left the club – three of them first team regulars from last season in Jordan Ayew, Federico Fernandez and Sam Clucas.

Swans Keen To Sign Former Bluebirds Defender Declan John

Former Cardiff City defender Declan John could be on his way back to Wales to join Swansea City. John is one of a number of late options being considered by the Swans before Thursday’s transfer deadline as manager Graham Potter seeks to strengthen his defence. The 23-year-old Wales full-back is currently at Rangers, but appears to be out of favour with new manager Steve Gerrard.

Yan Is A Man With A Plan As Swans Bid To Build On Perfect Start

Yan Dhanda is thinking big after helping Swansea City complete a perfect start to their Championship campaign.
