George Byers has signalled his determination to push for promotion with Swansea City after signing a new three-year contract at the club. The former Watford midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season and was one of the club’s most consistent performers from the turn of the year. Along with Daniel James and Oli McBurnie, Byers was one of the reasons why the Swans were able to come with a late surge that almost took them into the play-offs, before they finally fell away.

Jake Bidwell has revealed how Angel Rangel and Connor Roberts were instrumential in his move to Swansea City. The left-back has joined on a free transfer in a three year deal from QPR to become new manager Steve Cooper’s first signing of the summer. Bidwell, a graduate of the academy at Everton, will compete with Wales international Declan John for the berth on the left side of the Swans defence.

Steve Cooper admits it was a crowded room when he sat down to be interviewed for the Swansea City job. There was recently appointed chairman Trevor Birch, club president and all-round legend Alan Curtis, new consultant Leon Britton, and a rather large elephant which Cooper says he needed to get rid of. “The elephant in the room was the fact that this would be my first senior job and that I’d not worked before with senior players,” says the Welshman who left the English FA and a comfortable and successful job with England U17s.

Steve Cooper: I Left One Of The Top Jobs In Europe For Swansea City

Steve Cooper has revealed he was tempted enough to leave “one of the best jobs in Europe” in order to become manager at Swansea City. Cooper – whose official title at the Liberty Stadium is head coach – made his first appearance in front of the media on Tuesday and insisted it had been a wrench to leave the FA for his first job in club management. The Pontypridd-born 39-year-old is one of only two coaches to have followed the late Sir Alf Ramsey in leading England to a World Cup triumph, a conquest he achieved in 2017 with England U17s.

Swans Are Getting The Man Who Will Help England Win The Next World Cup, Say FA

Swansea City have hired a coach who could yet be hailed as the man who helped England win the senior World Cup, according to his former employers. Welshman Steve Cooper, from Pontypridd, was confirmed as the Swans’ new manager on Thursday evening. He has signed a three-year deal and replaces Graham Potter, who hot-footed it to Brighton and the Premier League after just a year in charge.

Swansea City Decide To Give Steve Cooper His First Manager’s Job

Swansea City plan to name Steve Cooper as their new manager within the next 48 hours. The 39-year-old England U17 World Cup-winning and former Liverpool academy chief has beaten others on the club’s shortlist that included their own academy manager, Cameron Toshack. Cooper is still currently employed by the FA and has never managed a team at senior level.
