Wales suffered an agonising defeat against Scotland in the Women’s Six Nations clash at Broadwood Stadium on Friday night.
Coach Rowland Phillips’ side took a 14-0 lead as they looked to bounce back from the whitewash by England last time out.
But a Scottish fightback was completed when Sarah Law kicked a penalty with just four minutes left to give the hosts a first win in the tournament since 2010.
Skipper Carys Phillips powered over from close range on 20 minutes with outside-half Elinor Snowsill adding the conversion.
Snowsill added a second conversion on 35 minutes after the visitors’ pressure brought a penalty try.
But with the clock showing 40 minutes were up, centre Lisa Thomson struck for Scotland with the conversion further reducing the deficit.
Wing Rhona Lloyd then crossed near the corner flag on the hour mark, but Lana Skeldon missed the difficult chance to level the scores.
But just as Wales looked like they had run out the winners, Law stepped up to snatch the victory.
It was the first by Scotland after 13 successive defeats against wales.
Wales’ next game is against Ireland in Cardiff on March 11th.
