James Hook will be holding his final testimonial event on Beaujolais Day at the Towers Hotel near Swansea – with help from a number of old Wales teammates.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 17 from 12pm. There will be a drinks reception, a three-course meal, a sporting auction, and live entertainment.

The evening will also feature a question and answer session with Hook, and former Wales stars Shane Williams, Mike Phillips and Paul James.

Organisers are hoping it presents Hook’s many fans and admirers with wonderful opportunity to honour a Welsh rugby great, while enjoying a good time in the process.

Hook won 81 caps for Wales, scoring 352 points in Test rugby, while he also toured with the British & Irish Lions to South Africa in 2009.

He played an integral role in three Six Nations winning squads while he also helped Wales reach the 2011 Rugby World Cup semi-finals.

At club level he represented the Ospreys, Perpignan, and Gloucester.

“I am delighted and honoured to have been given the opportunity to have a testimonial year by the Ospreys Supporters Club, the Ospreys, and the Welsh Rugby Union,” he said.

“I am hugely proud of what I have achieved during my career and to be able to celebrate it in this way, is something very special for my family and I. Also, to be able to give something back to charities that are close to my heart throughout my testimonial year has been wonderful.
