What's on in Wales

What's on in Wales

New Year’s Day is usually a time of hope, optimism and positive thinking . . . all of which are desperately needed in Welsh rugby.

Who knows? Maybe the Welsh derbies on Thursday can surprise everyone and offer all of the above on the first day of the new year.

At least the Ospreys and Scarlets can stop thinking about whether 2026 will be their last for a day on January 1, when they are both in action.

The Dragons host the Scarlets at Rodney Parade at 3pm, before the Ospreys welcome Cardiff later in the day at 5.30pm.
