Cardiff Devils owner Steve King was quick to congratulate coach Andrew Lord and his players for their second successive Elite League triumph.

King tweeted from Calgary in Canada: “Oh you beauties. Congratulations to @toddkelman @AndrewLord17 and every @cardiffdevils player, staff and fan. Back to back @officialEIHL champions. What an accomplishment!!! #repeat

Champions League Hockey welcomed Devils back to the competition, tweeting: “@cardiffdevils coach Andrew Lord already looking ahead to being back with us. His side took two wins in this year’s competition, over @HCDavos_off and @vaxjolakers in Wales. Who do you want to play next time, Devils fans? #ChampionsGoBeyond

The message on Devils official twitter site was: “WE are number one – we are number one!”

Devils still have four Elite League fixtures to play, starting against Sheffield Steelers at Ice Arena Wales join Sunday (6pm).

That is certain yo be a big party night in Cardiff Bay – and rivals Steelers won’t feel at ease playing in front of Welsh hockey fans celebrating their teams success.
