Welsh Netball In Recruitment Drive

Welsh Netball is entering a busy recruitment phase with a new coach for the Celtic Dragons at the top of the agenda.

The departure of Aussie ace Julie Hoornweg at the end of the Super League season created the vacancy and “a competitive” salary is being promised to anyone who can help turn around the fortunes of the Dragons.

“The Celtic Dragons are seeking a passionate, dynamic and dedicated Head Coach to lead the franchise in the Vitality Netball Superleague. We are looking for an experienced and resilient netball coach with excellent communication skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a passionate and dedicated organisation and re-invigorate the Celtic Dragons,” says the job description.

Applications are due by 10 August with interviews due from 15 August. In addition, chief executive Sarah Jones is looking to boost the governing body board by adding five new non-executive directors to help push the sport forward in what is described as “an exciting and revolutionary change for the organisation as it looks to further develop its governance structures.”

Jones is seeking key individuals that can broaden the skills-base and diversity of the Board and support the next stage of growth and development in the organisation. They are looking for experts in the field of Communications and Marketing, Human Resources, Law, Governance and Policy and Information Technology/Digital.

The deadline for applications is midday on 1 August, with interviews due to take place with Jones and the Welsh Netball chair on 14 August. There is also a vacancy for a Performance Pathway Officer, who will be responsible for co-ordinating the Welsh Netball Performance Pathway to ensure the identification and development of talented athletes and their progression.
