The 24-year-old joined forces for Team GB with Amber Hill but had to settle for the bronze medal as they were just pipped to bronze by the Czech republic duo of Jakub Tomecek and Barbora Sumova.

The Team GB pair had earlier qualified in third position, scoring 143 from their three qualification rounds, but were unable to bring their morning’s form into the latter stages.

Llewellin, who also finished fifth in the men’s shotgun earlier in the Games, lost out in a shoot-off by one after both pairs were tied on a score of 32 after 40 clays.

The Haverfordwest-born marksman, son of Welsh rally ace David, was looking to add to his silver medal from last year’s Commonwealth Games in Australia.
