Welsh Golf Ace Lydia Hall Relishing A Sunday Saudi Showdown In Pursuit Of Second LET Tour Crown

Lydia Hall has a great chance of landing her second LET title in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The 32-year-old from Bridgend goes into the final round of the $1million Saudi Ladies International tied at the top of the leaderboard with Denmark’s Emily Pedersen.

Hall shot a third round 69 – her third under par round of the tournament – to move to 10 under in the first professional ladies event held in the desert kingdom.

“I got off to a fast start and holed a good putt on the 1st,” said Hall, who could pocket the biggest winner’s cheque of her career.

“Shaved the hole on the 2nd and made a really good putt on the third. The wind picked up on the back 9 and I had two bad swings all day.

“I’m pretty happy with the result and I’m looking forward to playing with the same group tomorrow again – it’s going to be fun.”

Pedersen has gone into the third round at the Royal Green Golf & Country Club on the Red Sea coast near Jeddah leading Hall by two shots.

But her round of 71 left the duo level-pegging ahead of Sunday’s final day with the duo two shots ahead of Georgia Hall.

And Hall would have gone into the final round leading by one shot but for the Dane bagging a birdie on the 18th.

Hall will be looking to add to her previous LET title when she won the British Masters in 2012.

St Asaph’s Amy Boulden shot a third round two under par 70 to move up to a tie for 30th place on +2.

Abergavenny’s Becky Morgan is one shot back on +3 in a tie for 35th spot after a 71, her first below par round of the tournament.

Wrexham’s Chloe Williams has slipped to a tie for 50th after a round of 76 left her on +6.
