- Welsh Dragons Ready To Launch New Era Of Netball
Welsh Netball are ready to launch a new era at club and country level.
Australian Julie Hoornweg, appointed Wales interim coach last season, took charge following the departure of head coach Trish Wilcox.
Hoornweg was in charge of Vitality Superleague club Celtic Dragons and the Welsh national team who competed in the Commonwealth Games.
Former Fiji and England coach Hoornweg was passionate and committed to the jobs while she was in Wales, but always said is was likely to be a short-term stay.
Now Wales Netball and Celtic Dragons have both launched searches for a head coach.
“We are recruiting and on the hunt for a new Wales head coach,” said a tweet. “An exciting and rare opportunity.
“Welsh Netball is looking for a passionate and committed individual, an inspirational leader with an athlete-centred approach who has previous experience of developing talent.”
There is also a vacancy for the role of Wales team manager available, although the deadline has already passed.
Superleague Dragons say: “We are seeking a dynamic head coach, an experienced and resilient coach with excellent communication skills.
“It is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a passionate and dedicated organisation and re-invigorate Celtic Dragons.”
