Top seeds Lisa Aitken and Enora Villard are still on course to clash at the Karakal Bangor Squash Classic in North Wales.

Scotland’s Aitken swept through her quarter-final in straight games, taking 25 minutes to secure victory, while French player Villard was made to work for more than an hour before progressing.

Cristina Gomez (France) won the first two games 11-7, 13-11 before Villard worked her way back into the game and won 11-8, 11-8, 11-6 in 62 minutes.

Aitken now plays Grace Gear (England), while Villard plays qualifier Lucy Beecroft, who ended Welsh interest in the tournament by winning against Ali Hemingway.
