Wales No.1 Tesni Evans is through to the semi-finals at the British National Squash Championships in Manchester, but brother Emyr Evans’ tournament is over.

Despite leading 6-2 in the opening game, Cardiff-based Emyr was beaten in three games by England’s Daryl Selby as he claimed his fourth successive semi-final berth.

But the Welshman forced the No 3 / 4 seed to work hard from start to finish before setting up a last four clash with No 2 seed James Willstrop. Selby eventually beat Evans 11-9, 11-9, 11-8 in 38 minutes.

Commonwealth Games-bound Tesni Evans took just over half-an-hour to despatch England’s Jenny Duncalf to set-up a clash with No 1 seed Laura Massaro. Two-time champion Massaro has yet to lose a game and was a comfortable winner over Emily Whitlock.

But Evans will go into the Game full of confidence having beaten the former World No.1 in their last match. Her  11-9, 11-5, 11-8 demolition of Duncalf proved she is in good shape and ready to cause an upset.
