A storm is brewing in Cardiff Bay. The Beast from the North of England are intent on stirring up emotions at Ice Arena Wales.

Coach Ryan Finnerty and his Manchester Storm mean machine – big, tough and highly skilled – are intent on ensuring a cold front hits Cardiff Devils.

A sell-out attendance of 3,000-plus spectators will roar their teams on in a top of the table Elite League clash at the IAW.

Leaders Devils are 10 points clear of Storm in second and the visitors must win to keep hopes of closing the gap alive.

The League clash comes two days before the Challenge Cup final when Devils take on Belfast Giants at the same venue.

“We are fully aware how significant both games are,” said Devils coach Andrew Lord.

“There are enough guys in our team who have been through this for a number of years and will help others out.

The green shirts being worn by Cardiff Devils against Manchester Storm.

“We have a clear day between the two matches and that will help wit our preparation. Our focus is on ourselves, how we play and that’s when we are at our best.

“I like the Storm team a lot. They have a ton of competitors, they have size and play to that size.

“Their D-men have good stick detail, Storm are playing great and their forwards have great speed.

“That team has more than enough speed to compete on big ice. Their high end forwards are as good as anything in Elite League.

“Storm play as a team and identity. Those assets make them dangerous.

“I’m excited. Our building can be loud when Devils fans show their passion.

“My message to every Devils fan is get pumped up. The noise you generate really does help your players.

“Bring it this weekend. Your support is crucial and really does spur the team on.”
