Sheffield Steelers are on their way to South Wales and the Elite League clash with champions Cardiff Devils WILL go ahead this evening (Sunday, 6pm).

Cardiff City’s match at Derby County was postponed today, but Steelers are travelling from further north and will be at the IAW to ensure the game goes ahead despite the snow.

Coach Andrew Lord and his team were crowned League champions after a 3-2 win against Belfast Giants away on Friday – and Devils fans are preparing for a party at Ice Arena Wales this evening.

Steelers are behind Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast and Fife following a 3-2 home defeat against Nottingham Panthers in front of 8,000 spectators on Saturday and coach Paul Thompson admits that would not be an acceptable spot for them to finish in.

Cardiff Devils already have ‘Back2Back Champions’ merchandise available in the Ice Arena Wales club shop.

Devils have won seven trophies in four seasons under Lord’s guidance – and are now gunning for the play-offs championship having already clinched the League title and Erhardt Conference top spots.

Cardiff have four League fixtures left, all at home, in the 2017-18 regular season before the play-off quarter-finals.

Mike Hicks and Matt Thompson are the referees for the Devils v Steelers match this evening.
