Former GB international Rob Bugden will start this year’s Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10km on Sunday May 20th. (10am) Corporal Bugden, a serving RAF Physical Training Instructor, suffered life changing injuries in a parachute accident in California in 216.

Corporal Bugden, a serving RAF Physical Training Instructor, suffered life changing injuries in a parachute accident in California in 216.

The Cardiff Met alumni who raced cross country for England and GB will get around 2,500 runners underway for the 10km race while there is also a 2k race (9.15am)

The relatively flat and fast course has attracted runners from all over Wales and England.

Set in the shadow of the spectacular Caerphilly Castle, the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k will both start and finish on Crescent Road.

The course will pass iconic landmarks including the giant cheese sculpture and Tommy Cooper statue as well as offering views of the medieval castle.

Owain Jones, of Bristol and West Athletics Club, set the course record of 31 minutes three seconds in 2016.
