- Manley Targeting European And World Success
It promises to be an exciting end of the year for Stuart Manley as he chases a European Tour card in Ras Al Khaimah before heading down under to represent Wales at the World Cup of Golf in Melbourne.
The 29-year-old finished tied 24th at the Hopps Open de Provence in France at the weekend to consolidate his position of fourth in the Road to Ras Al Khaimah Rankings in the European Challenge Tour.
The Al Hamra Golf Club will host the Challenge Tour Grand Final between Wednesday, 31 October-Saturday, 3 November. The top 45 players on the tour will play in the competition, with the top 15 earning a coveted European Tour card.
Manley’s stellar season has already ensured he will maintain his European Tour status next year and he will join Bradley Dredge in representing Wales in Australia at the World Cup of Golf on 21- 25 November. It will be his third appearance in the event having played in 2013 and 2016.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be again representing Wales at the World Cup. The two previous times I have played have both been memorable experiences, so I’m really looking forward to getting to Melbourne and teaming up with Bradley,” said Manley.
Wales have won the World Cup twice before. In 1987, Ian Woosnam partnered David Llewellyn to win the event in Hawaii, while in 2005 Stephen Dodd and Dredge triumphed on the Algarve, in Portugal
Manley has produced some superb results this year, winning the Hauts De France Open and has also posted four further top five finishes. He currently sits at 203 in the World Rankings.
