Llewellin Takes Welsh Historic Rallying By Storm

Pembrokeshire teenager Tom Llewellin scored a magnificent result on his first forestry rally in a Group 4 historic-spec Escort Mk2, when he won the Pirelli Welsh Forest Rally Championship Under 23 section on the Visit Conwy Cambrian National B Rally.

The 17-year old son of double British Rally Champion Dai Llewellin stunned the historic rally fraternity with his speed, finishing 21st overall on the opening round of the series.

Co-driven by Ross Whittock, Llewellin leads the U23 Welsh Rally Championship category – which has an end of season prize for the winning driver of a test in a PCRS Rallysport team Hyundai i20 R5. The reward is courtesy of the UK arm of On The Pace Notes, which is a pace note supply and co-driver advanced training programme run by former World Rally Championship co-driver Craig Parry.

“I had an awesome day in a car that is truly one of the greatest in the history of rallying,” said Llewellin. “I am very pleased to come away with second in class, first Under 23 and 21st overall.”
