Eloise Laity and Danni Jordan struck as Wales came back from a goal down to complete a sensational series win over Scotland in Glasgow.

The 3-0 clean sweep in the test series is a huge boost to the squad ahead of the European Women’s Championships II in Cardiff in August.

Wales had gone into the three test series ranked 26 in the world – still nine places behind the hosts despite their six place rise in the latest ranking.

But coach Kev Johnson’s squad upset the rankings at the National Hockey Centre having not beaten Scotland for over a decade until last Friday’s first meeting.

The Scots, looking to stop the whitewash, took the lead through Fiona Burnett on Monday.

But University of Bath chemistry student Laity, who plays for Clifton Ladies, found the right formula to quickly level.

And with a minute left, Abergavenny-born Jordan snatched the winner to complete the clean sweep.

Tina Evans, who reached the 100th cap mark in Monday’s game, had scored in the second game to give Wales a 1-0 win.

Natasha Marke-Jones and Phoebe Richards, on her 75th appearance, netted in the opening game.

Wales squad: Abi Welsford ©, Leah Wilkinson, Beth Bingham, Danni Jordan, Ella Jackson (GK), Eloise Laity, Hannah Cozens, Joanne Westwood, Julie Whiting, Lisa Daley, Natasha Marke-Jones, Phoebe Richards, Emily Rowlands, Roseanne Thomas (GK), Sarah Jones, Sian French, Sophie Clayton, Tina Evans, Xenna Hughes
