Jonny Clayton says he will go into the Ladbrokes UK Open full of confidence after continuing his stunning start to 2021.
The Pontyberem thrower is in the form of his life after following up last month’s Ladbrokes Maters success – his first TV title – with a superb four days at the Players Championship.
Clayton scooped the £10,000 winner’s cheque on Sunday at PC4 having reached the final twice and the quarter-final on the previous three days.

“My darts are going great, so the Welsh Ferret is definitely going to try hard to win it,” smiled Clayton of his Ladbrokes UK Open hopes in Milton Keynes this week (5-7 March).
“I’m a great believer on if it is is your day, it is your day. My consistency is creeping up, I know I’ve got the game and I’ve certainly had a good start to the year.”
Clayton capped his stunning four days in Bolton with an 8-6 victory over Damon Heta of Australia on Sunday.
the 46-year-old had lost in the final to Joe Cullen on Day One, to Callan Rydz in the second event before bowing out in the last eight on day three.
“It is all about confidence and I am feeling very good,” added Clayton, who won the World Cup of Darts with Gerwyn Price last year.
“Sometimes when I feel like I’ve played badly, I’m still averaging nearly 96 so something must be going right.
“I had my chances with Joe and Callan, but that’s how it goes. I’m very happy to have won one.”
