Lauren Williams wasted no time adding more gold to her growing collection after winning the Taekwondo German Open on Saturday.

The Blackwood teenager carried on from where she left off in 2016 with a crushing win in the -67kg final in Hamburg.

Williams had incredible success last year winning the European senior title as well as the Polish and Greece Opens.

And she also retained her world junior title in Canada.

The 17-year-old is already earmarked as a certainty for Tokyo 2020 having been reserve for Rio.

Williams dispatched Sweden’s Elin Johansson 30-16 in her semi-final.

Then in the final she saw off Spain’s Cecilia Castro Burgos by the emphatic margin of 26-5.

It was Britain’s second gold of the opening day with Peter Radford winning the -68kg category.

Wales’ double Olympic champ Jade Jones is not competing as she is taking part in the Channel 4 programme ‘The Jump’.
