- Glamorgan Sign Craig Miles To Boost Bowling Attack For Start Of New Season

Glamorgan have strengthened their bowling attack on the eve of the new cricket season by signing fast bowler Craig Miles from Warwickshire on a one-month loan.
The 29-year-old will be available for the county’s first three Vitality County Championship fixtures and will join up with the squad ahead of their trip to Lord’s on Friday where they open their Division Two campaign against Middlesex.
Miles, who played for Gloucestershire before his switch to Warwickshire, has taken 344 wickets at an average of 28 in first-class cricket.
The right-arm seamer will add depth to the Glamorgan bowling attack as Timm van der Gugten recovers from a calf injury.
Head coach Grant Bradburn said: “We are pleased to strengthen our squad depth with the addition of Craig Miles on loan from Warwickshire.
“Craig’s experience and first-class record will provide a huge boost to our squad as we look to begin a new era of success for Glamorgan.”

Miles said: “I am really looking forward to the opportunity of playing some red-ball cricket at the start of the season, and to be able to get some miles under my belt.
“I’m feeling good, fit and ready to go. I feel like I’ve found a good rhythm and my body is strong. I’m looking forward to the challenge and, as we know in cricket, things can change quickly.”
In a period of change under new coach Bradburn, Glamorgan have already secured the services of seam bowler Hamza Mir, who he coached when he was in charge of the Pakistan national team, and leg spinner Mason Crane who has joined the club on a season-long loan from Hampshire.
Hamza, 31, has been capped five times in Tests, most recently on Pakistan’s 2023-24 tour of Australia. He has taken 434 first-class wickets at an average of 22.40, and previously represented Sussex and Warwickshire in county cricket.
Bradburn will be hopeful his new bowling attack can help turn some of the 12 draws Glamorgan were held to in 2023 into victories this season, starting at Lord’s on Friday.
