Gerwyn Price is targeting a fourth tournament victory out of five after marching into the semi-finals of the Boyle Sports World Grand Prix.

The 35-year-old beat Jeffrey De Zwaan 3-1 sealing victory over the Dutch darter with a stunning 164 check-out.

Price is now the last seed left in the tournament as he chases the £110,000 winner’s cheque.

That would also move him into second spot in the world behind Michael van Gerwen, the defending champ who crashed out 3-0 in his quarter-final match against Simon Whitlock on Saturday.

“I thought I’d just go for it and it was a good way to finish,” said the Markham thrower of his check-out.

“I was confident before the tournament started. All the seeds are gone bar me, but I’ve still got a job to do.

“I have won three of the last four tournaments and hopefully I can make it four out of the last five.”

Price took a 2-0 set lead and though his rival fought back to take the third, The Iceman kept his cool to seal another impressive victory.

He will now face Dave Chisnall in the semi-finals on Sunday at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry

“Playing Dave, that has got to be one of the toughest games,” added Price.

“He is scoring really well. but if I get in early then I think I can outscore him. It will be a tough one.”
