Welsh darts stars Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton were both victorious in their World Grand Prix Quarter-finals on Thursday evening and are now just one game away from potentially meeting each other in what would be the first ever all Welsh PDC major final.

Price is now the only remaining seeded player in the tournament after beating the out of sorts Dave Chisnall 3-0.

But, the world number one who hails from Markham, was far from happy with the boos he received from the crowd in Leicester.

“There’s a lot more in the tank for me, it was a difficult game,” said a frustrated Price.

“Obviously the crowd were a bit rubbish again.

“But I won, so no matter what they do, I’ll keep winning – give me an opportunity and I’ll take it.

“The crowd were absolutely pathetic, but I won. I don’t care about dominating. I just want to keep winning.

“Sometimes the crowd are with me, sometimes the crowd are against me.

“They can boo me, they can do what they want, but I keep winning, so happy days.”

Meanwhile, Jonny Clayton who played alongside Price when they won the World Cup last year, also advanced to the last four after a hard fought win over Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski.

Clayton, who still works as a plasterer, did well to mentally recover from busting 134 which cost him a 2-0 lead.

He instead had to come back from 2-1 down to claim a 3-2 victory over the world number 12.

“If I could count, I’d be dangerous”, said Clayton, who has already won the Masters and Premier League this year.

Both Price and Clayton are in Semi-final action this evening (Friday).

Price takes on Stephen Bunting in a repeat of the World Championship semi-final, while Clayton faces Dutchman Danny Noppert who knocked out Michael van Gerwen in the first round of the tournament.
