And there was more success for Wales over the weekend as Rhys Britton – who like Coster competed at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Australia – won the points race.

The 19-year-old from Pontypridd took a lap alongside Matt Walls, Kyle Gordon and Jacob Tipper midway through the race.

Britton finished on 35 points, with Walls on 31 and Gordon a further five points back.

Cardiff’s Olympic champ Elinor Barker was just outkicked by Laura Kenny to miss out on gold in the 10km scratch event.

Carmarthen’s Jess Roberts, 19, was in the Team Breeze quartet that won the Team Pursuit title

Wales Racing Academy – Matt Burke, Daniel Coombe, Oscar Mingay and William Roberts – won bronze in a thrilling race in the Team Pursuit, beating the University of Derby quartet by 0.24 seconds.

Wales’ Ethan Vernon was part of the Team Inspired quartet that won silver in the men’s Team Pursuit after they were caught by HUUB Wattbike.
