Elfyn: Hey, We’re Going To Barbados!

Elfyn Evans has set his sights on another title this year after targeting victory in next month’s Sol Rally Barbados. The Dolgellau-born ace is already in the hunt for the the WRC2 crown – the World Rally Championship’s major support series – as well as the revamped British Rally Championship title.

The Dolgellau-born ace is already in the hunt for the the WRC2 crown – the World Rally Championship’s major support series – as well as the revamped British Rally Championship title.

Now Evans will co-pilot Craig Parry will be behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R5 Evo in which John Powell claimed victory in March’s Rally Trinidad.

The 27-year-old is relishing his debut on the June 3-5 event which is growing in popularity and competitiveness and he will also contest the legendary ‘King of the Hill’ hillclimb.

Evans said: “I’ve heard a lot of great things about this event so a big thanks to John , M-Sport and the rally organisers for giving myself and Craig an opportunity to experience it for ourselves.

“There’s always a lot of competition and the event attracts a lot of top-specification cars, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

“But, if there is a possibility to challenge for the win, we’ll certainly give it a go!

“This really is a unique opportunity to experience another new and very popular event. I’m sure it will live up to the expectation and I’m really looking forward to sampling the atmosphere first hand.”
