Cardiff Devils hit back from two goals down to win 4-3 against Fife Flyers in Kirkcaldy.

They were forced to grind out a win at Fife’s intimidating home rink and held on for an invaluable win.

Man of the match Gleason Fournier, Joey Martin, Layne Ulmer and Andrew Lord were the scorers in a battling Devils display.

Fife’s Peter LeBlanc was first on the scoresheet, firing home after 58 seconds, and Evan Bloodoff made it 2-0 (10-38).

Devils stayed composed and launched their fightback with Ulmer (11-40) and Martin (12-43) on target to make it 2-2 after the first 20 minutes.

Fournier scored the only goal of the second period (24-21) and Lord made it 4-2 (50-58). Both goals were unassisted.

Danick Gauthier pulled one back for Flyers, but Devils held on to take the points.

Devils, who outshot Flyers 13-4 in that crucial second period, included new signing Toms Rutkis, while Mark Louis, Joey Haddad and Craig Moore were ruled out by injuries.
