Glasgow Clan are preparing a hot Elite League reception for Cardiff Devils in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Head coach Peter Russell and his Clan team are among four teams who have already qualified for the end-of-season play-offs, along with Devils, Belfast Giants and Nottingham Panthers.

Clan are intent on finishing third and they are currently two points behind Panthers with a game in hand.

“We’ve had nine road games in our last 12 fixtures and that’s a gruelling schedule,” said Russell. “Our latest away match was in Cardiff when we lost 2-0 and now we are at home against Devils in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Glasgow Clan coach Peter Russell.

“I was pretty happy with out performance at the Viola Arena in Cardiff Bay. It was a great gamed Devils were defensively outstanding. Ben Bowns in goal made some unbelievable saves.

“Now we have four fixtures left, against Cardiff, Nottingham and Fife (twice).

Experienced Canadian forward Layne Ulmer is available to return against Clan away, having missed the Devils matches last weekend because his wife had their second child.

Cardiff have two regular season home matches left at their Viola Arena, against Manchester Storm on Saturday and Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday, March 30.
