- Devils Ace Linglet Targets ‘Incredible’ Trophy Repeat
Charles Linglet is aiming to help Cardiff Devils repeat their ‘incredible’ Elite League play-offs success.
Devils won the play-offs championship by beating Belfast Giants in the final and Linglet says: “The whole experience of winning that trophy was just incredible and it’s something I’d really like to repeat.
“Devils fans here have embraced me and my family like I’ve never experienced before.
“We feel like we are part of the community now. Cardiff is a great place and a really special place to play.”
Linglet has committed to Devils for 2019-2020 and will be a key player in their quest to regain the Elite League ice hockey title.
The 36-year-old forward spent the majority of eight seasons in the high quality KHL, most of those with Minsk, prior to joining the Devils last summer, after starting his KHL career with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod back in 2010-11.
Before moving to the KHL, the Montreal native spent six seasons in the American League, playing over 300 AHL games before eventually getting called up for five games with the Edmonton Oilers during 2009/10.
Linglet holds a Belarus passport and was called up for three World Championships with team Belarus, playing 71 games and recording 45 points for Belarus.
He played 76 games for the Devils across all competitions last season, recording an impressive 96 points (28+68). In 59 league games he scored 21 goals and added 54 assists for 75 points to lead the Devils in scoring and finish third overall in the league scoring charts.

Charles scored four goals and added four assists in the 9-4 playoffs semi-final win over the Nottingham Panthers. The play-offs trophy was the first major championship win for Linglet and getting that taste of silverware has only made him hungrier for more.
Devils have updated their pre-season schedule after Banska Bystrica have cancelled plans to travel to the UK in August.
Coach Andrew Lord and his team will now play Nottingham Panthers home and away.
