Davies Keen On Stoner Feedback

Chaz Davies is keen to work with two-time MotoGP champ Casey Stoner – but is not expecting to be racing against him any time soon.

The Powys-born rider reckons it would only benefit his World Superbikes hopes if Stoner tested his Ducati Panigale R bike this year.

But the only racing the Australian is likely to be doing is a few wild-card appearances in MotoGP for the first time since retiring in 2012.

And Davies, 29, said: “I’m happy and I think it is only a benefit to have Casey testing.

“With Casey you are going to see the limit of any motorcycle that you put him on very quickly, normally two or three laps!

“The character of Casey with his feedback is always very precise so it can only be a benefit to everybody in Ducati, including myself, with our bike so for me it would be interesting.”

And Davies joked: “He is obviously very experienced and I don’t need to tell you how fast he is.

“So I would be interested to see him on this bike – only on a test not a race!”

Davies finished runner-up to Ulster’s Jonathan Rea last season but is looking to make a title challenge when the campaign starts in Australia on February 26.

The Knighton-born rider will test at the Phillip Island track before the season starts.
