Chaz Davies shrugged off another crash to insist he will bounce back at the next round of the World Superbikes.

The Powys-born flier had a small ‘off’ during testing at the Misano track in Italy on Monday.

Davies had crashed out of Sunday’s second race at Ducati’s home track to slip 99 points behind Jonathan Rea in the standings.

But the 29-year-old is confident of responding at the next round at Laguna Seca in California on July 8-10

Davies said: “We tried a different configuration compared with the race.

“We focused mostly on the front, where we still have some options to explore, and on the engine, where there’s still room for improvement.

“The new solutions brought by Pirelli gave a good feedback and, most important, my right wrist didn’t bother me too much.

“I managed to ride without too many difficulties. We’re confident we can head overseas in full shape and bounce back in Laguna Seca.”

Davies has been linked with a switch to MotoGP next season but is understood to be in talks with Ducati to stay in World Superbikes.
