Craig Moore Aiming To Help Devils Take Second Scottish Scalp In Four Days

Craig Moore, Cardiff Devils’ young Scottish forward, is intent on creating many new hockey memories with the Welsh club.

The former Dundee Stars player helped Devils win 4-0 against his former club in Scotland during midweek – and is now focused on a second Scottish scalp in four days.

Devils are at home against Glasgow-based Braehead Clan on Saturday (7pm) in their only match of the weekend.

Moore rates helping Great Britain win gold medals at the World Under-20 Championships in Estonia his biggest achievement in ice hockey up to now, while he is hugely ambitious with club and country.

“I’d love to play for the Great Britain senior team at some stage, hopefully sooner rather than later,” says Kirkcaldy-born Moore, who communicated with ice hockey fans for an hour via twitter this week.

“Playing for Dundee in the last four of the play-offs, against Devils last season, was a high point of my time with Stars even though it didn’t work out as we would have hoped, while there have been a couple of high points since I came to South Wales.

“Beating HC Davos in the Champions League and winning against Steelers at Sheffield Arena are two of the best moments so far.

“But we want to achieve an awful lot more over this season.”

Moore and his Devils team-mates are fired up for two home fixtures in four days – against Braehead in Elite League and Swedish club Vaxjo Lakers in Champions League hockey.

Paul Crowder is suspended and misses the clash with Braehead, but is eligible to play in the CHL home clash with Lakers.

Matt Pope, who has missed matches because of a minor injury, is also close to being ready for action again.

Player-coach Andrew Lord and his Devils bounced back with that four-goal win against Dundee after suffering back-to-back defeats against MK Lightning and Manchester Storm last weekend.

Now Lord’s men are focused only on the clash with Braehead on Saturday.

Adult £18 (gold category), £16 (silver), £15 (bronze).

Concessions (60+ years of age, registered disabled, youth 16-21 years) £14, @12, £11.

Child (3-years-old to 15-years-old) £10, £8, £7.

Children aged under three do not require a ticket as long as they are sitting on an adults lap.
