Cardiff Fire scored 17 goals in two ice hockey matches and extended their winning run to 12 matches this season.

Head coach Mark Cuddihy and his Fire team won 9-2 against Haringey London Racers at home in a cup group match on Saturday before travelling to Swindon Wildcats and powering home 8-2 in the League.

They are top of National League South Division Two and still have the prospect of winning three trophies this season with the cup and play-off championships still in their sights.

Fire have already qualified for the NIHL Cup Final weekend, to be played at Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff Bay over the weekend of Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9. The win against London ensured Fire are group winners.

Their next home match is against Wightlink Raiders on Saturday, February 11 at Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff Bay (6.30pm).

Alan Armour celebrated his birthday weekend by scoring twice in Fire’s nine-goal scoring spree against London at the IAW on Saturday with David Christian and David Sadler also netting two apiece.

The following evening Fire travelled to Swindon for their League clash with Wildcats and swept to an 8-2 win.

Jordan Powell scored two goals and added an assists, while Armour was again on target twice.

Slovakian playmaker Robert Sedlak weighed in with three assists in a convincing Cardiff win.

Fire outshot Wildcats 58-37 and came out on top in what had looked a difficult trip along the M4.

Netminder Luke Takel was between the pipes and produced a solid performance.

Fire scorers v Swindon away: Jordan Powell 2+1, Alan Armour 2+0, Niall Shanahan 1+0, Samuel Bryant 1+1, David Christian 1+0, Sam Smith 1+1, Ross Wilkinson 0+1, Jackson Lewis-Price 0+1, David Sadler 0+1, Robert Sedlak 0+3, Jordan Barber 0+1, Tamas Elias 0+2.
