Cardiff Devils are aiming to finish 2017 on a high. They stand top of Elite League with three fixtures to play before the New Year.

Captain Jake Morissette and his team have home matches against Coventry Blaze, on Boxing Day, and Milton Keynes Lightning, who come to Cardiff Bay on Saturday, December 30.

Between those home games, Devils travel to Coventry’s Sky Dome arena.

Mo’s men are unbeaten in 10 – nine wins and a Challenge Cup tie – and the reigning champions are feeling good.

Player-coach Andrew Lord was on the bench for Cardiff’s 8-1 win against Dundee Stars in their last fixture, while Paul Crowder, Josh Batch and Craig Moore are injured.

Big defenceman Mark Louis is back on the blue-line and Devils will focus on that clash with Blaze on Boxing Day, Monday, December 26.

Playing three matches in five days is a tough test, but with Lord available to step in Devils are able to rotate if any player needs to sit out.

Lord has gone with the same line-up in the last two matches with Layne Ulmer reaching a landmark 100 appearances in Elite League competitions, while Joey Martin is two goals short of reach a goalscoring century.

Cardiff Devils remaining fixtures during December:

Tuesday 26 v Coventry Blaze (home, 6pm)

Wednesday 27 v Coventry Blaze (away, 7.30pm)

Saturday 30 v MK Lightning (home, 7pm)
