Wales’s No 1 badminton player Jordan Hart is relishing next week’s Polish Open after being buoyed by her performance at the All England Championships.

The 26-year-old from Haverfordwest played above her ranking to take a game off world No 16 Zhang Beiwen of the USA.

Hart, ranked 63 in the world, lost the first game in her first round match in Birmingham 21-10 to her China-born rival.

But Hart stunned her Las Vegas-based opponent by winning the next game 21-19 before losing the decider 21-12.

Hart will take heart from that display when she competes in Poland next week.
