Amy Boulden Ready For Next Chapter In Golf Career After Stunning Maiden European Tour Triumph

Amy Boulden produced a superb final round 64 to win her maiden Ladies European Tour title with at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.

The 27-year-old from St Asaph won by three shots after producing the lowest round of the tournament.

Boulden is hoping the confidence-boosting victory will propel her onto more success in future years.

“It’ll take some time to sink in, I’m thrilled and really excited to get that first LET win,” said Boulden, who had gone into the final round one shot down on Sanna Nuutinen.

“I am obviously overwhelmed. I was looking forward to getting out there today and I haven’t been in this position for quite a while, so I just tried to enjoy it.

“I feel like this is going to be a big boost in confidence for me.

“My goals this year were to put myself in to contention, I am really happy with how I handled the pressure and how I put my foot down on the gas when I needed to.”

“I’m just looking forward to being in these positions again over the next few years. This is where I want to be, I want to be competing to win, not struggling out there like I have over the last few years.

Amy Boulden on the 18th on her way to victory in Switzerland.

Boulden, who regained her Tour card after winning the qualifying school last January,  made eight birdies and no bogeys in the final round to finish with a closing 64 and finish the tournament on 17 under par.

The breakthrough victory is her first in 87 attempts on the LET and sees her claim the €30,000 winner’s check and rise 68 places to fifth on the Race to Costa Del Sol Rankings.

Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou was her closest challenger on 14 under, while home favourite Kim Metraux, Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen and Finn Nuutinen were two shots further back in a tie for third.
