The 19-year-old’s mark increased his PB with the 1.75kg disc by 49cms from the Throws meeting in Leira, Portugal in April.

Tomlinson also produced two more 59metre+ plus throws after his new PB as he finished an excellent second behind Germany’s Korbinian Haessler who won with a throw of 60.56m.

Cardiff’s Sarah Omoregie broke her best for the shot put for the second time in a  few weeks with a throw of 15.45m.

That improved by eight cams the mark she set at the Loughborough International last month when she was also on GB U20s duty.

Omoregie finished third in the competition as Holland’s Jorinde van Klinken triumphed with a throw of 17.76 – over two metres more than second placed Sina Prufer (15.54m).

The 19-year-old has moved up one spot to equal 10th on the UK all-time U20s list.
