Chepstow Racecourse: Preview And Tips For Tuesday’s Seven-Race Card

Racing continues at Chepstow this week with a competitive seven-race card on offer for punters heading to the track on Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting gets underway at 2pm with a class four apprentice handicap before rounding off at 5.30pm as six runners take on the seven furlong handicap to bring the card to a close.

The opening race on the card sees a field of seven head to the stalls for the seven furlong handicap in class four to kick things off (2.00).

Ultramarine races here off the same mark as when a good second of ten in a Lingfield handicap just a week ago so holds bold claims here to go one better.

Of his rivals, Redredrobin is a three-time course and distance scorer so rates the main danger from the Malcom Saunders yard.

Bownder was a winner at Salisbury just four days ago and looks the one to beat in race two on the Chepstow card (2.35), which is an eight-runner nursery contest over the one mile distance.

The Jonathan Portman-trained two-year-old shoulders a 6lb penalty here for that success but has taken his form up a level and can get the better of Aleishka, blinkered for the first time here after a sixth of 14 in a Kempton contest last time out.

Pearl Of Windsor is just about the one to beat in race three of the afternoon (3.13) for trainer Conrad Allen after a smooth win at Sandown last time out, but will face a very stern examination from the Roger Varian-trained Spherical, a winner at Yarmouth in May before bombing out at York but is in calmer waters here.

A field of eight will head to the stalls for race four on the card (3.48) with preference Savannah Smiles, who is taken to score for a fourth time after a good course and distance second on her last spin, while race five (4.23) can go the way of the progressive Caffu Zaffen, arriving on a pair of seconds at Haydock and Southwell in the last couple of months,

The penultimate race on Chepstow’s Tuesday card (4.58) is a class six handicap over the short five furlong sprint distance, with the nod going the way of Concierge, trained by Michael Attwater who was a good fourth of eight in a course and distance handicap eight days ago.

Finally, the card comes to a close as six runners take on the three-year-old’s handicap in class six over seven furlongs (5.30).

Preference in the finale heads the way of Rogue Rosie, third of seven at Chepstow last time out for trainer Alice Hayes and has something there to build on.

Of her rivals, Queen Jean rates the main danger, a good third of six in a Lingfield handicap on her last spin for trainer Harry Charlton.
