The 2024-25 season saw young guns Lamine Yamal and Désiré Doué fully establish themselves as the bold new superstars of European football.
Having helped Spain win Euro 2024 in Germany last year, Yamal, 17, inspired Barcelona to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España last term.
He was pipped to the Champions League Young Player of the Season award by Paris Saint-Germain’s Doué following the Frenchman's two-goal salvo against Inter Milan in the competition's final in Munich.
And while the duo's names are now on the lips of football fans worldwide, there are somewhat lesser known talents in Wales who could well be catching the eye on these shores in the near future.
"The future of Welsh football, as it stands, if they keep developing, should be very exciting."
This was the upbeat assessment of Craig Bellamy following Wales' training camp in Cardiff and Alicante in May.
The head coach included 14 uncapped players in the 29-man party, with a significant number of those being members of their country's various youth sides.
Ronan Kpakio impressed sufficiently to earn a call-up to the senior squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying double header against Liechtenstein and Belgium.
The right-back made six appearances for Cardiff City's first team last season and may well be handed a more prominent role by the Bluebirds during the 2025-26 campaign following the club's relegation into League One.
And it's clear Bellamy is a huge admirer of the 18-year-old full-back.
"I've known him since he was very young, I've kept an eye on him," Bellamy said of Kpakio at his squad announcement press conference.
"Even last year, we wanted to buy him for Burnley.
"His progression has been outstanding. I think his potential can be ridiculously high. He's very athletic and intelligent."

Bellamy has openly stated his desire to bolster the depth in Wales' ranks for the future - even beyond his time in the hot seat.
The gradual introduction of Kpakio will likely go some way to easing the 45-year-old's concerns over the long-term depth in the right-back berth, with current first choice Connor Roberts turning 30 years of age later this year.
But one name that has already generated numerous headlines is likely to be a real contender to spearhead Wales' attack - should he opt to wear the dragon on his chest, that is.
Despite being just 18 years old, Gabriele Biancheri has long been touted as a future star for Wales.
But the Cardiff-born forward also qualifies to represent Italy and Canada and opted to link-up with the latter nation in a training camp that followed Wales' recent stint in Cardiff and Spain.
With Biancheri having already played for Wales at Under-19 level, Bellamy will certainly hope to see the youngster commit his long-term future to his country of birth, although he accepts the striker deserves the chance to explore his options at present.
"At the end the decision will be his," Bellamy said of Biancheri.
"He knows where we are and where he is.
"He's not ready for first-team football with us at this moment.
"I've known him since he was very young and I know his family really well. Whatever he does will be the right thing for him, it's not a problem."

Biancheri netted 10 goals in 12 U18 Premier League appearances for Manchester United last season.
The Cardiff academy product scored five times and registered two assists in 11 Premier League 2 outings for the Red Devils.
It came after he ended the 2023-24 campaign with 17 goals in 27 games, helping United's young guns to lift the Under-18 Premier League title and claim Premier League Cup glory.
He is simply the kind of talent Wales will be determined not to miss out on.
As for midfield, Charlie Crew could well be the man to cement his place in the side in future.
The Leeds youngster - who made 13 League Two appearances on loan at Doncaster last season - has already made his senior bow for Wales and is part of the 27-man squad for this month's World Cup qualifying double header.
Following Leeds' promotion into the Premier League, 18-year-old Crew will likely spend the 2025-26 season away from Elland Road on loan to continue his development.
But it will represent another chance for the Cardiff-born teenager to further hone his skills and push the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Jordan James for game time in the middle of the park with Wales.
"I picked a lot from the Under-19s, who are a talented group. I was so impressed by them," added Bellamy when discussing the training camp.
The Wales boss has regularly emphasised the importance of building for the long-term, and Bellamy's confidence when it comes to the next generation can only bode well for the future.
