Wrexham could soon have Kieffer Moore up front alongside Nathan Broadhead, plus former England defender Conor Coady all in their starting line-up, plus a host of other new faces.

Wales international Kieffer Moore says he’s ready to be a driving force at Wrexham after finalising a three-year switch from Sheffield United.

The experienced striker, who becomes the club’s eighth signing of the summer, is determined to take on a senior role as the Dragons return to the Championship for the first time in 44 years.

“I want to be that experienced leader and bring a lot to the team,” said the 32-year-old.

“My work ethic is one of my strongest assets and I want to be someone that can help drive the team forward.”

Moore joins Wrexham after a single season at Bramall Lane, where he netted six times for the Blades, including a crucial strike in their play-off semi-final triumph over Bristol City.

While the fee remains undisclosed, reports suggest the North Wales club paid around £2 million for his services.

That figure could yet be dwarfed if Moore’s fellow Wales striker Nathan Broadhead completes a move from Ipswich Town for a club record fee thought to be about £7.5m.

Moore’s move marks a homecoming of sorts for the 6ft 5in forward, who previously spent two seasons at Cardiff City, scoring 25 goals in 65 appearances, before joining Bournemouth in a deal believed to be worth £5m.

Despite a difficult spell with injuries on the south coast, Moore made vital contributions—including the goal that sealed promotion for the Cherries—and later helped Ipswich Town climb into the Premier League during a loan stint.

Speaking after the announcement, Moore said: “I’m over the moon to join the club and I can’t wait to get started.”

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is confident the veteran frontman will add immense value to the squad.

“We’re delighted to welcome Kieffer to the club,” said Parkinson.

“He’s a player with a lot of Championship and international experience and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

Since returning to prominence under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham have surged from the National League to the Championship in just three seasons.

Moore’s arrival adds further firepower to a squad already strengthened this summer with signings including Ryan Hardie, Josh Windass, Lewis O’Brien, Danny Ward, George Thomason, and Liberato Cacace.

While forwards Paul Mullin and Jake Bickerstaff have been loaned out to Wigan Athletic and Cheltenham Town respectively, Moore joins a growing attacking unit at the Racecourse Ground.

Born in Torquay, Moore began his journey in non-league football with clubs such as Truro City and Dorchester Town, before gradually working his way up through Yeovil, Forest Green, Ipswich, and Rotherham.

Internationally, the striker has been capped 49 times by Wales, scoring 14 goals since his debut in 2019.

His most recent goal came in a 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Liechtenstein in June, capping a strong summer for a player who now hopes to bring that same impact to Wrexham’s historic Championship campaign, which kicks off away at Southampton on Saturday, 9 August.
