It's the business end of the season in the JD Cymru North. Dave Jones offers his preview and predictions.

Get ready for a thrilling climax to the 2024-25 JD Cymru North campaign this weekend.

Big stakes are on the line at both ends of the tier 2 league table.

Saturday's final fixtures of the season see the league title up for grabs and a last relegation place to be settled.

Leaders Colwyn Bay need a point from their trip to Penrhyncoch to become champions for a second time in three seasons at this level.

If Bay lose, then second-place Airbus, who are three points behind but have a better goal difference than the Seagulls, can pinch the title with a victory at Caersws.

However, there has been no reason whatsoever all season to doubt the Bay's title credentials and we expect them to win at Cae Baker and clinch top spot plus promotion back to the Cymru Premier.

Caersws are much-improved in recent weeks, but Airbus should take three points in Powys.

It would be no surprise to see Bay and the Wingmakers win their respective curtain-closers by two or three clear goals.

At the opposite zone of the table, Ruthin Town host Bangor 1876 in a crucial head-to-head where relegation looms large for both protagonists.

If Ruthin win, they stay up, but a draw or victory for 1876 will keep them in tier 2.

On a very tense afternoon at Maes Tegid, Bala, we believe a draw looks the best bet.

The other five games in Cymru North have nothing resting on them except a chance for the 10 teams involved to end their respective seasons on a high note.

Flint Mountain's recent form has been topsy-turvy, while opponents Holywell Town have been a little off-kilter of late.

However, Mountain have a very good record against the Wellmen, and might shade a narrow verdict at the Essity Stadium.

Gresford Athletic versus Denbigh Town has the makings of a draw, Llandudno should get the better of relegated Prestatyn Town, on-form Guilsfield can earn maximum reward at Llay Welfare and a thriving Mold outfit can edge their Flintshire derby with Buckley Town.

There is a great title race in progress in tier 3 Ardal North East, with four teams still in contention - Dolgellau AA, Bow Street, Brickfield Rangers and Llanuwchllyn.

Dolgellau are four points clear at the peak, but on Saturday they entertain a Brickfield side in third spot with games in hand and just one defeat on their record in the last 14 games.

It appears Dolgellau have hit top form at just the right time and they might just have the upper hand against Bricky with home advantage.

Llanuwchllyn need to bounce back from Wednesday's home loss to Dolgellau when they visit unpredictable Llanidloes. Expect Llanuwchllyn to get the win they need.

Cefn Albion can see off relegated Llansantffraid Village, while Llandrindod Wells should come off best in a mid-to-lower table tussle with Llanfair United.

In the Ardal North League Cup, Porthmadog are home to Radnor Valley at the semi-final stage.

Port hold a considerably higher position in Ardal North West then Radnor do in North East.

On that basis, and with the tie being at Y Traeth, a Porthmadog win looks the right call, but Radnor are tricky customers and it might end up very close.

Brickfield Rangers await the winners in the final.

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 can win the Ardal North West title on Saturday with a victory at Llanrwst United.

Any other result and second-place Holyhead Hotspur remain in the equation - provided the Holy Islanders beat Corwen at home.

Rhyl rallied from a double blip to outscore Porthmadog 3-1 with a fine performance last weekend.

Boosted by that showing, we think the Lilywhites can get the win needed to be crowned champions, but Llanrwst will make them battle all the way.

On-fire Holyhead Hotspur should definitely overcome the challenge of Corwen, while Connah's Quay Town can hit back after last weekend's 7-1 drubbing at Holyhead and claim a home success over Trearddur Bay, who are showing the effects of a long, hard season.

Llannefydd and NFA both lost in midweek, so will be keen to turn the tables when they lock horns at Cae Llan.

A draw looks a ressonable shout.
