Omar Bogle Told He’s Back Down The Bluebirds’ Pecking Order

Neil Warnock has warned Omar Bogle he will have it all to do as his Cardiff City striker prepares to sit out the next three matches following his sending off at Bristol City. Bogle was shown a straight card at Ashton Gate as the Bluebirds lost a heated Severnside derby, 2-1, to lose ground with Wolves at the top of the Championship. The former Wigan front man – who scored his first goal of the season against Ipswich earlier in the week – was dismissed for a reckless lunge on Marlon Park and now faces a three-game suspension.

Crisis? You Should Have Seen Us This Time Last Year, Says Swans’ Nathan Dyer

Nathan Dyer insists Swansea City’s current plight does not compare to their troubles at this stage last season. The Swans winger will be part of a match-day squad that host Brighton on Saturday with the club only above the relegation zone through goal difference. But whilst Everton and West Ham – the clubs either side of the Swans – are perceived to be in crisis, Dyer believes the problems at the Liberty Stadium are nowhere near as severe as a year ago during the dark, confused, and ignominious days of Bob Bradley.

Newport’s Greatest Day Should Be On Display, Not Boxed Away

Newport’s rugby heritage is a proud one, but no longer loud. The Dragons may have dropped the city’s name after their re-branding, but Peter Jackson argues that is no excuse for the region shamefully boxing away their Rodney Parade history. Only four club teams have ever beaten the All Blacks and the greatest of those victories happened 54 years ago this week in Newport. Swansea were the first in 1935, Llanelli the last in 1972 with Cardiff almost exactly between them in 1953. Epic occasions all three but any history student worth his liniment oil will understand why Newport’s tops the lot because theirs came against the mightiest of All Black touring teams, the one led by Sir Wilson Whineray during the winter of 1963-4.
