Dewi Griffiths Denied By Injury And Will Seek Tests Ahead Of Gold Coast Countdown

Dewi Griffiths will undergo tests on his right hamstring after another attack of cramp ruined his chances of capping a wonderful year with the European Cross Country title. The Swansea Harrier led the field through 2,000 metres in Samorin, Slovakia, and was still in the mix at 4,110m sharing the lead with British team mate Andrew Butchart. But then cramp struck in his right hamstring and he was forced to pull out 400 metres later. “It is the same hamstring in my right leg that caused me a few problems on my marathon debut in Frankfurt,” explained Griffiths, who is hoping to double up over 5,000 and 10,000 at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April.

Goal Trader Wilfried Bony Ready To Offer Some City Insider Dealing

Wilfried Bony believes a little insider dealing on his time trading on behalf of Manchester City can improve the share price on Swansea remaining in the Premier League. Bony spent two-and-a-half years at City and although he only managed 15 starts and a further 21 appearances from off the bench, the striker believes he soaked up sufficient knowledge to be usefully distributed before the teams meet at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side have now won 14 successive matches after Sunday’s success against Manchester United at Old Trafford – a Premier League record in a single season – but Bony insists there is a value in what his knows from his time there.

Price Is Right As Lauren Takes British Title Belt

Lauren Price ensured she ended 2017 on a high as she won a split decision against English rival Stephanie Wroe to be crowned the British boxing champion at 69kg. The British Olympic Podium squad member is hoping to punch her way to a better medal than the bronze she won in Glasgow in 2014 when she goes to the Gold Coast for next year’s Commonwealth Games. “It was good to finish 2017 on a high by becoming GB Champion, even though it wasn’t my best performance. But I got the win in what has been a rollercoaster year – now I’m ready for a big 2018,” said Price.

Paul Clement In The Bar With Swans Owner . . . But It’s Not The Last Chance Saloon

Paul Clement has again insisted he did not fear for his job as Swansea City manager – even though their struggles against West Brom were witnessed by co-owner Jason Levien. The American made an unscheduled visit to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday where he saw Swansea’s players respond to their manager’s predicament – and their own – by battling to a 1-0 victory. The result was the team’s first win in eight matches, lifted them back above Crystal Palace at the bottom of the Premier League, and eased much of the pressure on Clement who some suggested was one more defeat from dismissal.
