Wales flanker Aaron Shingler has agreed a new contract to stay with the Scarlets. The deal, of unspecified length, comes after Shingler has re-established himself as an international, having played in three of the four autumn Tests. The 30-year-old has been with the region for a decade and played 170 matches, in which he has scored 19 tries.
Teenage batsman Kiran Carlson has signed a three-year contract extension with Glamorgan that will keep him at the county until 2020. A product of Glamorgan’s academy, Carlon is regarded as one of Welsh cricket’s brightest prospects and has enjoyed a highly promising start to his professional career. The 19-year-old Carlson first burst onto the county scene in 2016 as an 18-year-old when he became the youngest player in English county first-class history to record a century and collect a five-wicket haul.
Neil Warnock has labelled his sending off at Reading as “trivial” and claimed his Cardiff City side deserved their battling draw on Monday night. Warnock was sent to the stands after a heated conversation with fourth official Andy Woolmer during the Bluebirds’ 2-2 draw at the Madejski Stadium.
