The draw for the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championships has been made as Moreton Bay in Queensland prepares for two exciting days of Nines Rugby League on February 23-24. The Championship is officially endorsed by the Commonwealth Games Federation and is classed as an exhibition sport.

Former Ospreys wing Tommy Bowe has announced he is to retire at the end of the season. Currently out injured with a shoulder problem, Bowe, 33, is arguably Ireland and Ulster’s greatest ever wing, but spent a good chunk of his peak years with the Welsh region. Out of form and suffering a career dip at his native Ulster, Bowe moved to the Ospreys in 2008 and went on to re-ignite his fortunes with 36 tries in 77 appearances.

Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac expects his region to dominate the Wales squad for the Six Nations when it is announced on Tuesday morning at 11am. Warren Gatland is expected to name 37 players for the tournament and Pivac believes almost half of them could come from Parc Y Scarlets.
