Ospreys wing and Wales Sevens’ all-time leading points and try scorer Luke Morgan and Leicester Tigers’ Jonah Holmes have both received a first call up to the Wales squad. Morgan, who has scored four tries in five matches for his region this season, and back-three player Holmes, who scored 10 tries in 11 games for the Tigers last season, will link up with the squad when they meet next Monday. Holmes, 26, was born in Stockport but qualifies for Wales through a Welsh grandparent.
After what many believe to have been one of the best Dayinsure Wales Rally GB’s in recent years, the event has retained its autumn place on the FIA World Rally Championship, and will run between 3-6 October next year. The event has been based in Wales since 2000, and moved from Cardiff to its new home in Deeside in 2013. With the support of local authorities such as Conwy County Borough Council, the event has flourish over the last six years – returning it to its status as one of the best rounds of the World Championship. Owen Lane may be the only new face in the Wales squad due to be named by Warren Gatland for the autumn series. Lane, the 20-year-old Cardiff Blues wing who scored two tries against the Dragons in his region’s recent derby victory, limped off after helping his side to a thrilling Heineken Champions Cup victory in Lyon at the weekend, but is not considered likely to miss any action. The versatile former Wales U20 player, who can also play at centre, could be the only uncapped player in a probable 36-man group for games against Scotland, Australia, Tonga and South Africa next month.

Brennan started his international career with […]
Ryan Giggs has told Wales it is time to prove they are much more than a two-man team. The Wales manager will send his country into Nations League duty against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night, without their two biggest influencers – Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. It will be the first time neither has played in a competitive fixture since Ramsey made his debut in 2008 and the omens in Dublin are not encouraging.

But 20-year-old Lane – who is a contender for a Wales wing spot in the autumn series – could feature for the Blues in their next Heineken Champions Cup tie at home to Glasgow Warriors on Sunday.
Wales players believe the fury of Ryan Giggs can provide the fuel for victory against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night. That showdown, believes the Spurs defender, has re-focused the team on the job of securing points for their Nations League campaign in Dublin.
