Cardiff City’s Pogba Lacuna . . . It’s Being Filled By Leandro Bacuna

Leandro Bacuna insists Cardiff City have what Aston Villa lacked three years ago – the unity to stay in the Premier League. The Bluebirds midfielder – who could replace Aron Gunnarssson against Liverpool today – was part of the Villa squad that crashed out of the top level in 2016. It was a divided dressing room, he says, full of finger-pointing accusations among players against a chaotic backdrop of four different managers in the same season.

Bala Keep Alive European Remainers’ Bid

It’s hard to deny that it’s been an underwhelming season for Bala Town, particularly in the second-half of their campaign where until yesterday they had managed just a single victory in Phase 2. Mike Hayes’ second-half winner coupled with a Chris Venables brace might just be the platform the Lakesiders so desperately need to launch their play-off campaign. Bala have not been the competitive outfit that we’ve come to expect in recent campaigns and this season the club are at real risk of missing out on European qualification for the first time in five seasons – a scenario which could make a significant impact on the club’s budget moving forward.

Oli McBurnie Takes Wilfried Bony’s Record . . . But Not Yet His Status

Oli McBurnie has paid tribute to Wilfried Bony after becoming the first player since the Ivory Coast striker to hit 20 goals in a season for Swansea City. Neil Warnock: We Need To Be Better . . . Or We’re Going To Get Battered

Neil Warnock has warned his Cardiff City relegation-battlers they need to improve against the top teams – or else they are heading for a “battering” against Liverpool on Sunday. The Cardiff City manager seems intent on not allowing any drop in standards set by his players in their 2-0 victory at Brighton on Tuesday – arguably their best performance of the season. The victory has revived the Bluebirds’ hope of staying in the Premier League, by cutting the gap between themselves and Brighton to just two points.
